The importance of selecting the right laundry sink can’t be underestimated! Typically your laundry will have limited space, but per m2 of space your laundry will most likely be one of the busiest rooms in the house. Making sure your laundry is well-designed and well-organised to help save you time with your laundry chores.
So what’s the best laundry sink? Sink or tub? Undermount or top mount? This all comes down to personal preference. So best to think through what you’re most likely to use your laundry sink for: soaking sports clothes and shoes, hand-washing delicates, washing your hands after gardening? The difference between a laundry sink and a laundry tub generally comes down to size. A tub tends to be much larger and deeper. You may struggle to fit a roomy laundry tub into a small room, but in general the larger the laundry sink the better. If you don’t have a huge amount of space, another design tip is that you can use a kitchen sink with a standard depth of approximately 200mm and pair it with a gooseneck mixer. This will make plenty of room for your buckets and larger items! Oh, and before you start trying to narrow down your choice, it’s best measure the unit the laundry sink will need to fit in to first! Make sure you give yourself a bit more room to play with than just drop-to-drop (the internal dimensions of the sink).
